Many of you reading this will wonder why I have started a blog, what do I have to say that could be interesting? Well it may not be interesting but I feel this is a good platform for me to share my experience with living with Crohn’s disease. Many of you will not know that just recently, in September, I was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease. The majority of people I have spoken to didn’t even know what Crohn’s was. So I feel that this blog will help those who don’t understand crohns and what it’s like to live with it gain a better understanding, but I also hope this blog helps those living with crohns understand the disease too.
Crohn’s disease put simply is where the body’s immune system attacks parts of the digestive tract. I still don’t know all the facts about Crohn’s disease but I hope the knowledge I have picked up from my journey so far is helpful to those starting or even near the end of their journey.
For all those who don’t know, my name is Emma, I am a 23 year old diagnosed with Crohn’s disease. I have always been a very active person throughout my life so far, and very busy. When I was 16 years old, I had started having problems with my stomach and fissures. This is where we believe Crohn’s disease started for me, eventhough I wasn’t diagnosed until Just before my 23rd birthday.
Throughout my blogs I will explain all the ups and downs of my story so far. I hope you will enjoy them and find them useful!
